Kiss My Axe brings you Sydney’s newest extreme sport: urban indoor axe throwing. We’ve taken lumberjacking out of the woodlands and brought it to the heart of Alexandria. We promise thrilling, memorable (and safe) axe-periences that’ll be on your lips for years to come and keep you coming back for more.
Axe Throwing isn’t just for lumberjacks (and jills), it’s for anyone on the hunt for a bloody good time. We have a team of kick-axe coaches ready to help you hit the target. Don’t worry we’ll be gentle with you, at least the first time anyway. Got a question, head to our FAQs page or get in contact.
Urban axe throwing is a fun sport where you’ll get the opportunity to throw solid steel axes at wooden targets in an axe-tion packed 2-hour session:
A Large Group session runs for 2-hours and costs $60 per person
A Small Group session runs for 1 hour and costs $50 per person. We call this the taster session!
Please see our ‘Packages’ tab for full range of activities and pricing.
Food and Bar packages also available.
A Large Group session requires a minimum of 8 people.
A Small Group session requires a minimum of 2 people (except Saturdays which is a minimum of 4)
The more people, the more axe-citement!
Absolutely anybody is allowed to throw an axe so long as:
You are not intoxicated by alcohol or drugs.
Imagine darts on a much bigger scale. You only have one thrower at a time and in one direction so there is little that could go wrong.
We have implemented a number of safety measures and protocols to prevent any unforeseen injuries from occurring. This includes self-contained axe throwing lanes and a zero-alcohol policy. Plenty of time for drinks afterwards at the brewery next door.
Your safety is our top priority. Our expert coaches are trained to make you feel comfortable every step of the way.
You will be required to undertake our safety induction and training before beginning any throwing and then will have 1-on-2 coaching for the entire session to help make you feel more comfortable.
Yes, but only up to 20 weeks into your pregnancy and at your own discretion.
Given the physical nature of axe throwing, we recommend waiting until after the birth of your child. Your safety and the safety of your child is paramount to us.
Believe it or not, the axes are a lot lighter than you think – the lightest (and smallest) weighs in at just under 300g and our largest axes weighs up to 1kg.
Our professionally trained instructors will help you select the most suitable axe for the technique required.
We’ve searched far and wide to bring you the finest selections of axes for throwing so no need to bring your own.

Went for Date night, very fun and alternative way to spend the night! The instructors are great, you play different games and they walk you through it! BIG UPS TO CARLO doing a great job and making sure everyone had a safe and fun experience! I will definitely be back!
My partner and I had a great experience at Kiss My Axe last night. The hosts Will and Colin were incredible and taught us the safest way to throw axes while still having a great time. My partner and I were fortunate enough to win the couples challenge and he also won the solo challenge. It’s safe to say we’re looking forward to going again soon!
This was so much fun! Gyndee walked us through safety, how to throw and got us on the right track to a great night. I cannot begin to thank her enough! Kiss My Axe is a great night out for a big group or just a couple friends. I’ve come away from tonight thinking this might be a sport I could get around! Such a good night, lots of laughs and LOTS of fun!
If you’re on the fence about giving this place a go, just bloody do it. We went on a whim, not really knowing what the evening would entail but I could not fault it. This place is the definition of “simplicity is the ultimate sophistication”. In all honesty, my partner and I were having a bit of an off week, for no real reason, and just had to get out of the house. From the second we walked in, our moods lifted and we were us again. It was so so so much fun. The music, the hosts, the vibe - everything was 10/10. We were able to have some light hearted competition with one another, friendly banter with the hosts and just an all round top night. Thank you to the team at Kiss my Axe for such a good night, we will definitely be back!!
Who would've thought throwing an axe at a target for 2 hours could be so much fun! Exceeded any and all expectations. Massive shout out to Will for being such an awesome and engaging instructor - definitely made the night! Can not recommend this experience enough. Will definitely be back in the future!
The host was awesome...explained the rules well with a hint of humor. Lol. My partner and I enjoyed it very much, it was something different to do and was all worth it.. Will definitely be getting a group of people next time we go. Loads of fun. It is a game that definitely requires finesse. Thanks Will.
I had an axecellent time! Would definitely recommend, the staff were encouraging and knowledgeable and an hour was a great amount of time. It was also half price because we could use out Dine & Discover vouchers, so a win win. We went at 11am and it wasn't fully booked which meant we got the lane to ourselves which was great. I imagine it's a lot busier at night. The only downside is parking is difficult in the street if you're not lucky enough to get one of the few spare spots in the street.
